About Me

My photo
I write novels, eat dark chocolate, raise three children, love my husband, scrub toilets, ignore the laundry, and love a good story, but hardly ever in that order.

Tidings of Comfort

Why do we do this to ourselves? Every year, we endure the pain and hardship of Photoshopping taking a Christmas card that will reflect our joy and gratitude for friendships and the Holy Child. Instead, this happens:
And then this:
Which spirals downward to this:
And just when we think we've made it over the mountain, this:
So then our numbers take a hit.
Until finally, we just resort to our true selves.
From our dysfunction to yours, we wish you a merry photo session. Good luck with that.

  1. Ha! That's so great. Send out the 4th one. 4 out of 5 ain't bad. Passing grade. Got your official card yesterday and LOVED it. You're such a good writer. Love you sis!

  2. This is awesome!! My favorite part is that you and Ana switched clothes a couple times while nobody else did. Little fashionistas. I feel like the face Ana is making in the fourth picture is her "I'm exhausted, but I'm going to pretend like I have lots of energy" Costa Rica face.

  4. My personal favorite is the last one. I agree with Amy, I like the outfit changes. I adore you all.

  5. Costume changes come from excessive vanity, not a heightened sense of fashion. They also happen after standing in front of my closet and shrieking, "Why don't I ever go shopping for grown-ups??? I need clothes!!"

Unfortunately, the shrieking occurs after Marc has already set up the tripod, so I'm toast. And resigned to costume changes.
